Description

Are your Spanish students learning about accidents, emergencies or natural disasters?  This writing and listening activity takes your theme and extends it through several class periods to improve proficiency.  Students will work together and get creative with this fun, multi-part activity!

First students will work in groups to write the transcription of a 911 call.  Next they will work together to make edits to their work.  Then students will record their transcript as the 911 operator and victim.  Finally, students will listen to their classmates’ recordings and answer comprehension questions about them. 

This activity is geared for Year 3 and above, but can be easily modified to fit your students’ needs. 

Who can use this product?

• Students able to use the past tenses
• Students in Spanish 2, 3 or above

• Teacher instructions spell out each step and give a timeline for how long each part should take
• Group work, partner work and individual work is involved over the course of 2 or more classes
• Writing, editing, pronunciation and listening skills involved
