What Is This Spanish Thanksgiving Activity Freebie??
This activity has 2 parts. Neither require any grading or correcting by the teacher, so it’s a perfect thing to have students work on before the break. It’s supplemental too, so no need to worry about having students who have already left for the holiday make it up!
Students will watch an Edpuzzle with self-correcting multiple choice questions. It’s about 4 minutes long, and there are 11 questions. The video introduces Thanksgiving, its history and the common traditions many Americans have associated with Thanksgiving.
The Spanish is slow and very comprehensible to students! If you need to help motivate your students, you can enter their score in your grading system. It’s easy because the questions are auto-graded!
What Is Part 2 of This Spanish Thanksgiving Activity?
Next, students will get a copy of their very own pavo! The instructions included in the activity tell you how to use it:
-ask students to say what they’re thankful for, or something that went well this year.
-use this as a great refresher about how to use an online reference tool rather than an online translator when they need to look up words.
-differentiate by proficiency level with what you require them to write on their turkey
*Hang them up! They make a wonderful bulletin board or door surround!
